We've been telling you about petty car burglaries that seem to be on the rise in College Station. There probably haven't been many bigger days for break-ins than Friday, where police reported 16 burglaries.
Four of the 16 were in the 1400 block of Earl Rudder Freeway. In nine cases, stereos were taken. A wallet or purse was gone in three instances.
It obviously bears repeating, but if you leave your car, authorities say take your valuables with you, or don't leave them in plain sight.
Here's a list of the locations of the reported offenses:
- 1600 Welsh (2 burglaries)
- 2400 Longmire (2 burglaries)
- 117 Holleman West (2 burglaries)
- 2309 Cornell
- 1401 Earl Rudder (4 burglaries)
- 1500 Harvey (2 burglaries)
- 2001 Holleman West
- 200 Brentwood
- 1615 University Dr East
