A Huntsville man remains in the Walker County jail after a couple of fist fights over a girl apparently led to a shooting.
Thursday night, Terrance McGowan, 19, and Osric Ledet, 18, had a couple of meetings that led to physical altercations.
The second such set of physicalities over a girl the two both liked was in the 200 block of Mary Avenue, where police say the Huntsville teens finally separated and were walking to their cars. Instead of leaving, though, McGowan pulled out a pistol and shot at Ledet, hitting him in the face.
The victim was eventually taken to Houston for treatment. Authorities say he is expect to survive.
McGowan turned himself in Friday on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon . Bond is set at $25,000.
