It was a bike-cop brawl that police say included an officer punching a suspect in the face.

Derrik Russell of College Station, and Tracy Ann Hernandez of Huntsville, were both taken into custody early Saturday morning.

College Station Police say they were dispatched to Spruce and Boyett for an assault.

Officers say they found Russell in the vicinity, and that he began resisting when officers attempted to detain him.

Police say one of the officers punched Russell in the face to get him to stop choking him.

According to officers, Hernandez had to be pushed away from the fight multiple times. She was eventually charged with interfering with public duties.

Russell was charged with assaulting a public servant and two counts of resisting arrest.
