A territorial terrier is in quarantine Wednesday night, after biting a neighbor who wandered into the yard.

Bryan police say it happened in the 500 block of West 29th street Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities say the nine-month-old pitbull was on a chain, and behind a fence when an 11-year-old boy approached the dog.

According to police the dog bit the boy in the chest. The boy was taken to St. Joseph Regional Health Center, and has been released.

The dog is at the Brazos Animal Shelter under observation, and will not be put down.
