The interruption of a private party may be behind a shooting in Centerville.
James Lacey was arrested Saturday by Leon County Sheriff's deputies. He's charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the shooting of Leona resident Tommy Reed.
Authorities say Reed and two females were partying in Centerville September 24. One of the women reportedly ended up with Lacey at a mobile home on North Cass Street.
Investigators say when Reed knocked on the door to try to get her to leave, he was threatened by Lacey. Reed returned a second time and was shot in the abdomen by a 22-caliber rifle.
Reed is in fair condition at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Lacey's bond is set at $15,000.
