The Downtown Bryan Economic Development Association (DBEDA), after an extensive search, named Cindy Peaslee as its new Executive Director Wednesday.
Mrs. Peaslee previously served as the Chairwoman and Vice-Chairwoman of DBEDA, as well as serving as Chairwoman of the Special Events and Tourism Committee of DBEDA. Additionally, she was the recipient of the 2007 Downtown Impact Award.
Professionally, Cindy has over 20 years experience in hospitality and tourism sales and marketing, most recently serving as Destination Sales Executive with the Bryan-College Station Convention & Visitors Bureau. She participates as an active member of the Texas Society of Association Executives, Meeting Professionals International and the Texas Downtown Association.
Mrs. Peaslee states, “I am honored to have the opportunity to be a part of the future phases of Bryan’s downtown revitalization. This is an incredibly exciting time for our downtown and I look forward to continue working closely with Bryan city staff, downtown merchants and property owners, as well as our partner organizations to increase public awareness of the revitalization efforts.”
Mrs. Peaslee will be succeeding John Hendry, who served as Executive Director for the last five years. Her start date will be October 13, 2008.
