Although its been almost three weeks since Ike devastated the Gulf Coast, we still have evacuees living in our community.

Residents and staff of the Edgewater retirement community are taking refuge at Christ United Methodist Church.
They have been here since September 11th and Chaplain Gary Adams says they are very anxious to return home.
However, no one is sure when that will be since Ike destroyed their building.
He is asking for volunteers to come down and entertain the guests... playing a game, taking a walk, or just talking with them will help brighten their spirits.
Many of the residents and staff of Edgewater have lost everything.

They are asking for a few things to keep the seniors comfortable.

*Men and women's socks - wide width, shin length with rubber on the bottom
*Deodorant
*Men and women's sweaters, sweatshirts and sweatpants (all sizes)
*Ski caps
*Blankets
*Febreze
*Lysol

You can drop off items at Christ United Methodist Church.
