A 37-year-old Bryan man has pleaded guilty to raping two College Station women and then trying to escape from jail.
Jury selection was supposed to get underway Monday, but instead Frank Powell pleaded guilty to eight charges, including three counts of aggravated sexual assault, two counts of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit sexual assault, and one count of attempted escape.
The punishment phase will begin Tuesday morning.
District Judge Steve Smith will decide Powell's sentence, which could be up to life in prison.
