Hundreds flocked to Veterans Park Saturday to see the races. However, these weren't just any races, these were dachshund races.
The Brazos Animal Shelter sponsored the 2nd annual Wiener Fest, which included a one mile "high tail it through the park," as well as a costume contest.
By and large, the crowd was there to see the wiener dog races. At least one owner says her pooch didn't do any training for the event.
"She doesn't need any. They need none, they run around the house like banshee indians all the time. They run all the time," said Melinda Randle.
