The candidates for Brazos County District Attorney are no strangers to each other.
Incumbent Democrat Bill Turner and Republican challenger, and former judge, Rick Davis have squared off inside and outside of the courtroom. Wednesday night they met again, over the airwaves of community radio station KEOS.
The two discussed their qualifications with Turner stressing his experience. "I don't think you can step in one day and say now I'm leading an office with 15 lawyers, having never tried a homicide or capital murder case and expect to get that kind of justice we need to have a safe community."
Meanwhile Davis urged the need for change. "I think this race is more about leadership in the office. Leadership and direction. What I'd do differently to make the community safer is I want to approach justice with a more community-based justice."
