Sheriff Chris Kirk recognized as the 2008 National Association of Social Workers Texas Public Elected Official of the Year.
The Public Elected Official of the Year Award honors individuals who have demonstrated significant contributions that are consistent with the values and mission of social work. This is the highest NASW award given at the stat level to a public official.
The Public Elected Official of the Year Award recognizes outstanding service and contribution of an elected official who has shown leadership in the formulation of public policy, particularly policies that affect social justice, health care, education, civil and human rights, and social practice.
