While retails sales are lagging across the country, Texas seems to be the bright spot.
Last month in Texas, sales taxes generated from retail sales increased over five percent over the same time last year.
Bryan saw an eight percent increase and College Station saw a jump of five percent for October.
The state comptrollers' office says these numbers are encouraging but warns of a slow down in the months ahead.
