Former NFL referee and supporter of education, Red Cashion was the guest speaker at the Navasota Education Foundation's annual dinner held Tuesday night at the Grimes County Expo Center.
The dinner has over the years allowed contributors to donate hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Navasota Independent School District.
The money has been used in the classrooms and has helped teachers purchase the tools they need to teach students in areas of technology, music, and much more.
In addition to Cashion's appearance, NISD students provided some of the entertainment, during the evening.
The dinner had originally been scheduled for September 18th but, logistical problems brought about by Hurricane Ike, forced organizers to reschedule the event.
