New rules on how, and when, you can restrain your dog outdoors could be coming to Bryan.

Under current Texas law, leashing dogs to a stationary object outdoors is allowed during the day, but not overnight.

The Bryan city council is considering changing its local animal ordinance to carry it a step farther. Bryan officials say many Texas cities prohibit leashing dogs to stationary objects outdoors at any time of the day.

The city council will discuss the issue Friday in executive session.
