Early Morning Accident Backs Up Traffic on East 29th Street

Rain caused an accident around 7:30 Monday morning on East 29th as a car traveling westbound lost control, hydroplaned, and ended up on the side of the road. The driver narrowly missed a utility poll and was taken to the hospital with complaints of pain.

Traffic was backed up for 10 minutes while officers investigated the accident. The driver has been ticketed with failure to control speed.
