An early morning fire has ruined a popular Northgate restaurant.
Firefighters battled a small fire at Jin's Chinese Restaurant on Church Street in College Station around 4:45 a.m. on Monday.
They were able to quickly contain the fire, but not before it heavily damaged the back part of the restaurant.
Fire investigators said they're not sure what caused the fire and will release more details as they become available.
No one was in the building or in any of the other businesses in the same shopping center as the restaurant. Those other businesses, including Apartment Finders and Finders Keepers, only appeared to have minor smoke damage.
A passerby originally reported the fire to the authorities after seeing flames and smoke coming out of the roof of the building.
