Even if you have a license to carry a handgun in Texas, you can't take a gun on a college campus like Blinn or Texas A&M. But State Senator and former Aggie student Jeff Wentworth wants to change that.
Wentworth says he'll propose a bill in 2009 to allow those with handgun permits to carry a gun on a college campus. In a telephone interview Monday with News 3, he cited the massacre at Virginia Tech as a situation that could have possibly been avoided had someone been armed.
Wentworth plans to pre-file the bill by January 13.
