The City of Huntsville has named an interim Chief of Police as it searches for a permanent replacement for outgoing Director of Public Safety Jean Sanders.
Chief Sanders tendered her resignation recently, and her last day will be Friday, December 12. The city chose consulting firm Texas First Group, to help find a replacement.
"We are bringing in an interim chief from the same company we utilized recently for the Interim Public Works Director position - Texas First Group. The Interim Chief will be Allwin Barrow Jr. of Humble, Texas," said Baine. "Mr. Barrow has an extensive experience as a police chief. He was the Police Chief in Kerrville, retired as the Police Chief of Waxahachie, and has served as an interim chief in five other Texas cities. It is our intention to use his expertise while we search for the best applicant. I expect him here next week for a couple days to overlap with our departing Director of Public Safety."
