Bryan Mayor Mark Conlee presented the ninth annual Mayor’s Downtown Impact Awards during a volunteer reception Thursday evening at the Bryan Justice Center.
The Mayor’s Downtown Impact Award honors an extraordinary effort by an individual and/or organization to revitalize Historic Downtown. The award is sponsored by First National Bank of Bryan, which donates $500 to the Boys and Girls Club of Brazos Valley in the name of the award winner. The actual award is provided by The Discount Trophy Group.
This year’s recipients are Peter and Tara Madden, owners of Madden’s Casual Gourmet, and Shawn Andaya Pulliam and the Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley.
The Maddens have operated their downtown restaurant for four years, and Andaya-Pulliam has served as executive director of the Children’s Museum for six years.
“We had a great pool of nominees to choose from and want to congratulate the winners on their commitment and contributions to downtown Bryan,” Conlee said.
