Northbound traffic on Highway 6 was being detoured around the Navasota River area for road repairs, but is back to normal.
Starting at 1 p.m. Saturday, TxDOT shut down the road to repair what was termed a "failure in the roadway" north of the Navasota River Bridge.
The closure was supposed to last until around 4 p.m., but work took longer than expected and was complete a little after 7 p.m.
Southbound traffic was not be affected.
A detour was in place, with traffic being rerouted to Highway 90, then to FM 244, then to Highway 30, and back onto Highway 6 at William D. Fitch Parkway (Highway 40).
