Mediation Fails in Twin Cities Landfill Dispute

As one top official told News 3 Sunday, the only thing Bryan and College Station can agree on when it comes to their landfill operation is that they disagree.

After mediation meetings this past week, both sides could not find common ground on the Brazos Valley Solid Waste Management Agency.

Bryan filed a suit against College Station this summer, claiming they did not have enough say in how the landfill operation was being run. District Court Judge Travis Bryan ordered mediation.

With that having failed, it's up to Judge Bryan to order a next step, which could include formal court proceedings or more mediation.

This past week's extended talks came after short weekly meetings between the two cities.
