Longtime Bryan Educator, Coach Dies

A longtime Bryan educator and coach has died.

W.E. "Bill" Hodge, Jr. passed away Saturday. He was a principal in Bryan ISD and coached numerous sports, including basketball.

Hodge was a graduate of Somerville High School and Texas A&M, where he attended school on a baseball scholarship. His stint at A&M was split due to service in the Army during World War II.

Visitation for Hodge will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Central Baptist Church in Bryan.

Bill Hodge was 85 years old.
