Once-Accused Local Principal May Appear at School Board Meeting

Just weeks after the case against him was dropped, has the former Leon High School principal finished talking?

Not according to the family of David Jones, who told News 3 they would be at Monday night's school board meeting to address trustees.

Jones had been accused of assaulting a student as that child left his office in early 2008. There was reportedly bruising on the student, but lawyers for Jones claimed he hadn't caused them or used excessive force in detaining the student.

Just before the end of the year, the charges against Jones were dropped.

He had been placed on leave and reassigned from his principal's job, but resigned from that post.
