A vicious attack by a pack of roaming dogs leads to the arrest of a Washington County pair.
Brian McDonald, 29, and his mother Gloria McDonald, 50, are charged with one felony count of animal attack causing serious bodily injury and four counts of animal cruelty. Even though the son is the owner of the dogs, the mom was also charged because authorities say she knowingly let dangerous dogs run loose.
Investigators say the three dogs, a pit bull, German shepard and beagle mix, brutally attacked Bill Whiddon, Jr., 49, Saturday night as the victim was cleaning a fence line.
Whiddon was rushed to the hospital with severe bites that authorities say almost penetrated his bones. Tuesday he was listed in stable condition at Trinity Medical Center.
Deputies ended up shooting two of the dogs after being attacked themselves.
