Dallas-based London Broadcasting Co. has agreed to purchase Central Texas NBC affiliate KCEN-TV for $26 million, according to filings with the Federal Communications Commission, TVNewsDay reported Friday.
Sue Mayborn of Temple is the station’s owner.
The private equity firm SunTX Capital owns London Broadcasting, which is headed by former Gaylord Entertainment CEO Terry London, who started building a station group in early 2008.
London had agreed to buy a group of Texas radio and TV stations from Drewry Communications for $115 million in a deal that would have included Central Texas ABC affiliate KXXV-TV, but in the FCC filing, London said it would not go through with that deal, TVNewsDay reported.
KCEN was founded in 1953.
