The capital murder trial of Christian Olsen will get underway Monday, February 16.
Ten women and four men have been selected as the twelve jurors and two alternates. The trial begins at 8:30 a.m. on that Monday.
Olsen is accused of killing 68-year-old Etta Jean Westbrook at her home in June 2007, and then using the Bryan woman's credit cards around town. Authorities tracked him down through those purchases. The state is seeking the death penalty in this case.
Olsen is also accused of killing 63-year-old Geraldine Lloyd months earlier. Authorities say the 21-year-old was living with Lloyd and her family on the same street as Westbrook. Olsen allegedly killed Lloyd and buried her in the backyard.
Lloyd's daughter, Kelly Sifuentez, has also been charged with murder in that case.
As News 3 did with the P. David Romei trial in November, Steve Fullhart will be blogging live from the courtroom keeping you updated on all the proceedings as they happen.
