A suspected drive-by purse snatcher is behind bars, thanks to two feisty ladies who wouldn't go down without a fight.
Cynthia Mabry, 48, remains in a Llano County jail Tuesday after authorities say she tried to swipe a woman's purse in an HEB parking lot in Kingsland. But the 71-year old target turned out to be one tough cookie. The woman fought back, then called 911 which lead to Mabry's arrest.
College Station police believe Mabry is also the one who grabbed the purse of local resident Dana Grove in a Kroger parking lot a few weeks ago. Grove lost her bag but not her nerve and was able to get the license plate of her attacker along with other useful information police used to track down Mabry.
A warrant was issued Tuesday for her Mabry's arrest in College Station. She will be brought back to face charges here upon her release from Llano County.
In a bizarre twist to the story, Mabry is the daughter of Gerldine Lloyd, one of the two Bryan women allegedly murdered by Christian Olsen who is about to go on trial in Brazos County.
Mabry's sister, Kelly Sifuentez, is also charged with her mother's murder.
