When Joe Lopez started working at Wilton's Office Works in Bryan, JFK was president, gas was $.27 a gallon, and Pete Best was still the Beatles drummer.
But after 48 years on the job, Joe is ready for some well-deserved "R-and-R." That prompted friends, family, co-workers and customers to gather Wednesday to wish Joe the best on his retirement.
In his nearly-five decades with Wilton's, Joe has worn many hats. But what he'll best be remembered for is his dedication and kindness.
Joe plans to enjoy each and every day of his retirement. Something he learned to do while battling, and beating, cancer.
