The College Station police force is about to get a little bigger.
The city council approved a $614,000 amendment to the budget Thursday night which includes nine new full time employees. Among those nine are three new patrol officers and a new patrol lieutenant.
The personnel expansion is part of Chief Mike Ikner's reorganization which he unveiled late last year. There are currently 107 officers that hit the streets of College Station according to the department.
In other action, the council postponed discussion of a venue tax for a proposed convention center.
