A safe solution is on the way to two College Station elementary schools, after parents voiced concerned about a lapse in security.
Fences have now been approved for both Rock Prairie and Pebble Creek Elementaries, currently both schools share property with city parks.
The City Council approved construction of the wrought iron fences, with a cost estimated at $60,000 to be split evenly between the city and the school district.
It was back in November when Cody Funderburk, 4, was able to slip away from his class at school, and wander into the road.
Parents in January expressed their concerns to the College Station City Council.
The fences are expected to be installed by the beginning of the '09 school year.
