The 16th Annual Newman 10 Awards are upon us and the city is looking for a few worthy nominations.

Wednesday morning at the Bryan/College Station Chamber Of Commerce, the Newman 10 Business Performance Awards officially kicked off.

With past winners on hand, the Bryan Rotary Club along with the Chamber announced that nominations for the award are now being accepted.

The award recognizes the top 10 fastest growing and most successful small businesses in Brazos County.

Organizers say, with the economy taking a hit right now, local business is more important now than ever.

"It's never been more important that we encourage these people and what they mean to our economy and always have meant. It's never been more critical than it is today." said Louis Newman, owner of The Newman Printing Company.
