A Bryan man who threatened to kill his girlfriend while holding a knife to her throat, will now have a long time to think about his actions.
Eloy Delacruz, 46, was sentenced Wednesday to 25 years in prison after being convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The jury took only an hour to find Delacruz guilty. The prosecution and defense then agreed on the sentence, eliminating the need for a punishment hearing.
Delacruz attacked his girlfriend on August 19, 2007. She was able to escape to a neighbor's house where she called authorities.
