Police said his carelessness led to his roommate's death. Now, over five months later, a College Station man has been formally charged.
27-year-old Boyce Wilburn Stokes III was arrested Thursday, and charged with criminally negligent homicide.
College Station Police said last September, Stokes was showing his roommate, Keller Verett, a new gun accessory when he unintentionally fired and hit Verett in the head, killing him.
Stokes has already posted a $10,000 bond.
Criminally negligent homicide is a state jail felony. If convicted, Stokes could face a fine of up to $10,000 and up to two years behind bars.
