It's a project some Bryan residents probably thought they'd never see get off the ground. But after years of waiting, there are finally plans in place for a top-to-bottom makeover of the Old Reliance Road bridge.
In a joint announcement Tuesday by the city of Bryan and Texas Department of Transportation, a timeline was released which calls for the $6.5 million contract to be awarded by the end of summer.
Plans call for expanding the bridge from two, to four lanes with walkways on both sides.
Construction is expected to be finished by the fall of 2010.
