An 18-year-old College Station man is in the Brazos County Jail accused of causing bodily injury to a 5-year-old boy by hitting him in across the face with his hands and belt.
When questioned, Leonard Antwuan Daniels told authorities he was trying to teach the child who's diagnosed with mild retardation how to fight and said, when he was growing up "old school" that's what they did.
Officers say the child had a red mark across his right eye and leg as well as across the hip.
Injury to a child resulting in bodily injury is a state jail felony, punishable by up to two-years in jail. If convicted, Daniels may also be required to pay a fine up to $10,000.
