A JC Penney employee is recovering after being hit by a vehicle during an attempted robbery.

Yesterday, College Station police say 24-year-old Leshia Williams and 28-year-old Demetrice Nelms fought with employees who attempted to detain them until police arrived.

Employees said the pair were suspected shoplifters.

During the struggle, police say Williams hit an employee with her vehicle.

That employee was taken to the College Station Medical Center for minor injuries.

Both suspects were located inside the store and arrested.
