United Way Tops Goal

The United Way of the Brazos Valley has exceeded its 2008 capital campaign goal.

The non-profit organization announced Wednesday that it raised more than $1.4 million last year.

At its 10th Annual Recognition Lunch at the Hilton in College Station, the United Way acknowledged individuals and businesses who gave of their time and money, while also recognizing outgoing and incoming board members.

19 local non-profit agencies receive funding from the United Way.
