A couple of would-be thieves bit off more than they can chew.

Police say the burglars broke into a Bryan home around 1:40 am Monday. What they probably didn't know, was the home belonged to a Brazos County jailer.

When he confronted them, one of the suspects grabbed a knife and attacked him. That's when the jailer grabbed his gun and opened fire.

Both suspects got away, but they're now wanted for aggravated robbery.
