Bugs Found, Bryan Restaurant Closed

Updated: Tue 7:39 PM, Mar 24, 2009

If you're in the mood for Mexican food, there's one downtown Bryan restaurant where you can't go.

Los Nortenos Mexican Cafe in the 200 block of South Main Street was shut down Tuesday after health inspectors discovered live roaches.

Inspectors were inspecting the restaurant because of a roach complaint. Health Department officials said they found several of the insects in the drawers and cabinets alongside to-go packets.

Pest control was contacted and health inspectors will do a follow-up inspection Wednesday.

The restaurant will have to pay a $500 fine.
