If you are heading south on Highway 6 Thursday towards Navasota you need to be aware of some lane closures. The Texas Department of Transportation says it's contractors will be working on pavement markings. As a result you should slow down and start looking out for backups as you get closer to FM 2154. From there, the closures will run south to the Navasota River.
TX DOT says the temporary lane closures are part of the $100.3-million-dollar freeway widening project from FM 159 to the Navasota River. The whole project is expected to be complete by summer of 2010.
