Bailouts, bankruptcies, bulls and bears were all topics on the table at Monday night's economic leadership forum at the Bush Presidential Library Center.
Following welcoming remarks by President George H.W. Bush, the invited panelists took the state. They included, Maria Bartiromo, anchor of CNBC's "Closing Bell with Maria Bartiromo," Richard Kovacevich, Chairman of Wells Fargo & Company, Lawrence Lindsey, President & CEO of The Lindsey Group, and Rick Santelli, CNBC On-Air Editor.
The group talked where the nation's economy was headed and where it had been. While opinions varied on what triggered the crisis, all agreed consumer confidence must be restored for a turnaround to take place.
"I believe that every president, every prime minister, every central banker and every finance minister in the world is going to do and is doing, I state it very clearly, that they're doing whatever it takes to correct this economic crisis that we are in," said Kovacevich.
The event is part of the Twanna M. Powell Lecture Series.
