The March primary (and possibly an April runoff) will decide who will be the Republican nominee for Brazos County judge. Starting Monday, those four candidates will appear on the only local morning television newscast.
Brazos Valley This Morning will feature the following line-up of guests:
Monday: Ernie Wentrcek
Tuesday: Brian Alg
Wednesday: Mark Conlee
Thursday: Duane Peters
The current judge, Randy Sims, did not file for re-election.
Wentrcek is Bryan's former mayor and the former director of Brazos County's juvenile court services. Alg is a economic consultant. Conlee serves currently as Bryan's mayor and is a businessman. Peters is a rancher, a current county commissioner and a former constable.
There are no Democrats running for this office. Doug O'Brien, an independent, has announced he will run for the judge's office.
Candidates for the GOP nomination for State Senate District 5, State House District 14 and Texas' 17th District of the US House have already appeared on Brazos Valley This Morning. Video from the on-air interview and online exclusive content can be found by going to the morning show page here at KBTX.com.
Early voting for the primaries runs through February 26. Election Day for the primaries is March 2.
