The sound of bagpipes could be heard across parts of the Brazos Valley as residents here paused to reflect on those lost 12 years ago.
Firefighters at Veterans Park in College Station unveiled a large American Flag atop one of their ladder trucks as a tribute to those who died in the September 11th attacks.
Firefighters from as far away from New York attended the service.
"Everyday I have to do a little bit of remembering for the loss of their life..five members of my house didn't come back on 911," one said, "thats what i try to do in the morning say hello to them because they wont get to see the things i see for the rest of the day"
The ceremony concluded with a moment of silence.
