99 Years for Leon County Man Who Ran Over Girlfriend Twice

He ran over his girlfriend twice after an argument. Now, Christopher Pickett is heading to prison.

Monday, he was sentenced to 99 years behind bars Monday by a Leon County jury.

Back in September, he and Suzanne Ferguson were driving on FM 831 when they got into an argument. Authorities say they had been drinking.

Ferguson got out the vehicle near the CR 225 intersection, and Pickett ran her over twice and left her on the side of the road. She was airlifted to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

According to "The Buffalo Press," Pickett had plead guilty three other times before for assaulting Ferguson. He was found guilty of this latest crime -- aggravated assault with a deadly weapon -- last week.
