Good to Know:
TEXAS A&M- With graduation around the corner, Aggies got a head start on their careers today.
"There are a lot of reasons to support and hire Aggies. We do a lot of preparation work, especially through the Texas A&M Career Center and through the curriculum of Texas A&M University...to really prepare the students for the marketplace," said College of Liberal Arts Senior Career Coordinator Patricia Barron.
The Liberal Arts Career Fair hosted 61 employers and over 120 recruiters. The event at the Rudder Exhibit Hall featured opportunities for internships, full time positions, and graduate admissions. Students showed up dressed to impress with resumes in hand to meet with a wide range of employers including the Department of Public Safety, Clear Channel Communications, to name a few.
"We're looking for diverse students that are really motivated. And we're not just looking for people to fill entry positions, we're looking for the next managers and leaders," said Recruiting Ambassador and Texas A&M student Travis Zikias.
"It's a good tool to use to get comfortable talking to business partners and different people that are hiring, even as a sophomore or a junior, and it's really important to seniors, too, because this is the way that they're going to put their name out there and get hired," said Student Volunteer Ashley Polasek.
