One more alleged child molester is off the streets and it's the second cold case to be solved by the Madisonville Police Department in just two months. A 25-year-old man who police say sexually assaulted three small children five years ago in Madisonville was detained by police in the Houston suburb of Pasadena.

This case is a little different John and Meredith; -- the man accused of molesting two 9 year old boys and a six year old girl back in 2007 moved to Pasadena and police say he essentially walked away. But Madisonville Police Chief Chuck May says he has a stack of cold cases his men are actively working; and Wednesday night -- he says -- is a prime example of what lengths they're taking to bring justice to the many innocent victims inside his county.

“It was a darn good case,” explained Madisonville Police Chief Chuck May. The mother was a young mother back then and afraid of losing her children so she never said anything about it until September 2009.”

The report was filed in 2009 -- but somewhere along the way -- the case went cold.

“The children’s testimony was superb and there was no reason this case shouldn’t have gone forward,” said Chief May. “I have no knowledge as to why it stopped, but it stopped after the children were interviewed at Scotty's House.”

When Chuck May assumed his duty as the Madisonville Chief of Police 14 months ago he says he made a promise to those living in Madisonville.

“We're proactive,” said May. “I don't like reacting to any situation and we don’t tolerate that here in the city; that’s just the nature of the beast and that’s what happens when you molest children and rape women.”

He says he’s sticking to his guns; even if it means driving four hours to bring justice back home.

“We got in my police truck and drove to Pasadena, Texas,” May said.

It took about a year to solve and Wednesday night, it took only four-hours to bring 25-year-old Michael Seth Rocha back to Madisonville. He was arrested in Pasadena just after 6 Wednesday night.

“He had a blank look on his face, there was no emotion whatsoever; this is a strange individual. He needed to be off the street,” said May.

Rocha is now behind bars indefinitely and according to May – now a mother of three can finally sleep in peace knowing that the man who allegedly changed her children's lives forever -- is off the streets.

“Corporal Craft called her [the victim’s mother] on our way back from Pasadena and she started crying,” added May. “It's emotional for us and for the family.”

Chief May said Pasadena Police are trying to search for a cell phone they believe Rocha threw out of a vehicle during a short pursuit in Pasadena. Authorities say finding the phone is critical. They believe it contains sexually explicit child porn images on the cell phone's SIM card.
