Atmos Energy Flares Gas Line in College Station

Crews with Atmos Energy peformed work on a gas line Tuesday morning that services Texas A&M University.

The flare began just before 7AM.

Atmos says the flaring is a necessary part of a pipe replacement project on the campus, and that it has strict safety guidelines in place.

Drivers were urged to use caution while traveling in the area during their morning commute.
