College Station Animal Control is asking for the public's assistance in locating a dog who bit a young male in the face near the intersection of Crested Point Drive and Windmeadows Drive 2:30p.m. Saturday.
Police said the male was attacked and bitten by a dog that was off leash in the area. There were reportedly several adults who witnessed the incident. The animal involved was described as a large brown dog wearing a collar. Police believe the owner was possibly near the area when the dog was let loose. Authorities said the dog appeared to have been barking at another animal when the victim stepped in front of the dog and was bitten.
Authorities said the dog needs to be located and observed to rule out possible rabies exposure to the victim. If you have any information about this case, please call the College Station Animal Control at (979)764-3600.
