Investigators say Kyle Wischnewsky not only confessed to killing his brother, but also to dumping his brother's 2-year-old beloved dog five miles from the crime scene.
"I knew how much Cliff loved her,” said Cassie Wischnewsky, the victim’s ex-wife who has been searching for the dog. “She was his life, his soul mate and his companion."
Cassie is talking about Marley, the victim’s pet Schnauzer.
During the interview with Kyle, investigators say he confirmed that Cliff had brought Marley on the trip to Bryan. After he shot his brother, he drove back along Highway 21 and dumped the dog along the road 5 miles from the scene.
Family members say Cliff treated the dog like a child. His daughter, 18-year-old Lauren Wischnewsky, has wanted to find Marley for her dad ever since the moment she found out the news.
"I went back in the house and talked to my mom, and I asked if my dad was dead, and he was,” said Lauren.
Lauren says the only thing she has that’s left of her dad is Marley.
"I will not stop. I will not stop because I know in my heart that that's what Cliff would want me to do. That dog was his life,” Cassie said.
The family is offering a $1,000 reward for anyone who finds Marley.
