B/CS Chamber in Washington, D.C., Ready to Meet Lawmakers

Updated: Mon 12:21 PM, May 06, 2013

The Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce delegation arrived in Washington, D.C., early Monday afternoon. Their first stop: the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

"This briefing from the U.S. Chamber has always been well received by past delegations, and it's been extremely helpful to us. That's why we keep coming back each year," said B/CS Chamber President Royce Hickman.

The delegation met and heard from the U.S. Chamber's Vice President for Small Business Police and other key members. The briefing ranged from Political Affairs to Health Care Policy.

This meeting with the U.S. Chamber gives the B/CS delegation a chance to ask questions and better understand legislation or policies.

Tuesday, the B/CS Chamber delegation will do something they haven't done before. They have a room reserved on Capitol Hill and about a dozen lawmakers, including the House Majority Leader, will be coming to them. Each presentation, by the full group, should last about 30 minutes.
